He's looking up at someone.

Head tilted back, mouth just open, dark eyes fixed on a face somewhere above him. It's the look every dog owner knows, the one that says I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere until you notice. Set him at the feet of your Carolers and he'll look up at whoever is singing.

A lot of work went into that coat. Every tuft of his shaggy red-brown fur is sculpted in, with a darker wash worked into the grooves so the texture shows from across the room. His ears hang long and heavy, his nose is painted glossy black, and there's a small catch of light in each eye. Around his neck is a plaid ribbon in red, green and cream, tied off to one side in a bow.

Turn him around and look at the tip of his tail, where it rests on the base. The mark is pressed right into it: © SIMPICH 85.

Robert Simpich, who founded the doll shop with his wife, Jan, sculpted the original. This piece was then cast and hand-painted in the Simpich doll shop, his collar was tied on by hand, and he was set on a wooden base.

All dolls we sell will be in displayable condition, but price will refect the doll’s overall condition. Images are of the doll you will receive.

Heirloom Condition: We reserve this designation for only the most exceptional pieces. Hierloom pieces have been personally inspected and restored to a Like New Condition by David Simpich.

Pristine Condition: These dolls arrived in fantastic condition, void of resin or paint chipping, fading, or missing pieces. Pieces with this designation needed little or no repair work by David SImpich.

Excellent Condition: Dolls in Excellent condition have weathered years of love well, subtle signs of their often decades of display can be seen as slight fading, minor scuffs on their wooden stands, or tiny paint chips.

Displayable Condition: These pieces appear in excellent or pristine condition while on display, but upon a closer look, you may find fading, paint chips, or significant scuffs on their wooden stands. We are excited to offer these pieces a second life as a more affordable option.
