The Simpich Originals

From the very beginning, the Simpich family set out to create collections that felt timeless—the joyful Carollers, the heartfelt Peasants, the iconic Cloud Babies, and the beloved Angels. But alongside those traditions, they also poured their energy into something just as special: original designs—pieces born entirely from their imagination, their passions, and their hearts.

This page is dedicated to those uniquely Simpich creations: one-of-a-kind concepts, standout characters, and inspired works that don’t fit neatly into any single collection—because they were never meant to.

Limited Edition #633/2000

Edition Size: 2,000 (Introduced 1989)

A radiant companion to the beloved Victorian Skater, the Victorian Summer doll was introduced in 1989 as a warm-weather portrait of the same elegant figure. With the skates put away and a parasol in hand, she steps gracefully into the garden season — exchanging her fur-lined coat for a flowing summer gown, full of color, charm, and timeless sophistication.

Though her wardrobe has changed with the seasons, the sculpted portrait remains the same: this piece shares its head design with the original Victorian Skater, which was modeled by Jan Simpich in honor of her sister Evelyn Jane (“Pudge”). The legacy and emotional heart behind the piece — one of love, memory, and artistic tribute — carries forward in every version of this limited-edition figure.

Each Victorian Summer doll was dressed in a unique combination of print and solid fabrics in soft pastel shades: pink, blue, peach, yellow, lavender, and green. Hair could be either blonde or brunette, with matching blue or brown painted eyes. From her hand-crafted parasol to the fine detailing in her Victorian boots, every element reflects the delicate craftsmanship and attention to grace that defines the Simpich tradition.

A true collector’s treasure — both for its rarity and its story — the Victorian Summer brings warmth, elegance, and legacy to any display.

Burr-tholemew - Snowman - Signed By David Simpich
$1,200.00

Burr-tholemew — Simpich Snowman | Heirloom Condition | Signed by the Artist

Let it snow — Burr-tholemew insists!

Meet the merriest weather-watcher ever to wear a top hat. With his twig broom at the ready, pipe puffing contentedly, and a wild tuft of tinsel-silver hair escaping from under his blue-banded hat, Burr-tholemew is a snowman who has seen a few winters — and loved every single one of them. His bright blue scarf is knotted snug, his glittering red mittens are laced with frost, and his grin says it all: the storm can come whenever it pleases. He'll be out here, sweeping the walk and greeting the flakes by name.

Created by David Simpich in 2004, Burr-tholemew was the first of David's whimsical snowmen, sculpted with the same storytelling spirit that animates all of his work. Look closely and the details keep rewarding you — the dappled, sparkling snow texture of his rounded frame, the blue shadows painted into every dimple, the tiny carved pipe, the cheerful red cheeks. Every element is shaped and finished by hand, no two alike, and with the studio's original holiday creations long since concluded, no more are being made.

Produced in very limited numbers, Burr-tholemew has become a highly sought-after collector's piece — a small, joyful chapter from the final years of the Simpich studio. In Heirloom Condition, he stands ready to take up his post on a mantel or shelf and do what he does best: welcome winter with open mittens, and remind everyone who passes that the best storms are the ones that bring joy.
