As Simpich Showcase transitions to closing its doors, we are saddened to announce that no further live shows will be presented in our theatre in its present form. We do plan to release more recordings of shows in the coming months.

“As the saying goes, ‘Ah, the fleeting nature of live theatre…’  For me, as a puppeteer, and for my ever-supportive wife, Debby, this art form’s momentary and intangible quality is a large part of its power and appeal. (Also, more practically, we’ve been forced to take into account a flash flood which rushed through our storage facility in May of 2020.  While my marionettes all “survived,” many of the shows’ intricate props were damaged or destroyed. Yes, when it rains, it pours.) We are grateful for the archival video recordings we have of most of the shows and plan to continue to release them to the public through streaming. In addition, I’m hopeful to explore and bring to fruition some special theatre and storytelling projects in the future.”
