Based directly on John Bunyan’s classic 1678 Christian allegory, this solo theatre presentation features puppeteer David Simpich in the role of Bunyan himself. Utilizing a cast of over twenty marionette actors, the author recounts his fantastic dream in which Christian, an every-man character, journeys from the City of Destruction to the Celestial Gate. The play highlights the classic Bunyan “visions” of the Slough of Despond, Vanity Fair, the River of Death, imprisonment by Giant Despair, battles with demons and dragons and colorful discourse with an array of wise men and fools.
Runtime is 2 hours and includes a 10 minute intermission.
