The Little Mermaid (1987)
The Little Mermaid premiered at the Simpich Marionette Theatre and was performed periodically by David and Debby until 1991. The play provided a number of unique design and performance challenges and many special effects were employed -- including lightning, storm waves and... bubbles. But at its core was a story that had always been a personal favorite of David's, and its poignant and multifaceted theme was the inspiration for his later solo presentation, The Hans Christian Andersen Storybook (1994).
